Gemma

,

Kia ora, My name is Gemma, I was born and raised in Te Aroha, after spending over 5 years living over seas working as a nanny I have moved back local, spent the next 4 years working as a toddler teacher in a centre, I am so excited to join my experience together as I embark on my in home journey back in my home town.

I would like to create a homely environment where ever child know they have a place and a since of belonging, I also love to get out and about and look forward to taking your tamariki out in the community as they learn about the world around them.

I believe that the uniqueness of the child should guide our work, which is why my philosophy and planning is built around our Early Childhood curriculum, Te Whāriki, and the five strands of that – Wellbeing, Belonging, Contribution, Communication and Exploration. This allows me to create an environment that caters to your child and there current interests, acknowledging that a small child’s interests can often change quickly and giving them time, space, support and tools to take control of their own learning and the direction it may take.
