Meet Our Educators

Gemma

Te Aroha, Waikato

Kia ora, my name is Gemma, and I was born and raised in Te Aroha. I have spent 5 years overseas as a nanny. I have also been working as a toddler teacher and am excited to embark on my homebase journey in my hometown.

It is important to me that children know they have a place and develop a sense of belonging which is my focus when children begin care.

I will also utilise the local community for children to experience and learn about the world around them.

I believe in the uniqueness of each child and follow their interests and encourage them to drive their learning.

My philosophy and planning are built around the Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whāriki, five strands of Well-being, Belonging, Contribution, Communication and Exploration. I provide an environment that caters to individual children’s interests providing space and time to take the lead of their learning with support.
