Hello, my name is Binta Mathews, and I have been working in Early Childhood Education since 2020. Caring for children has always been something I am truly passionate about. Watching young children grow, learn, and develop into confident little individuals is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
I have completed my Level 4 Bi-Cultural Social Services qualification. These studies have strengthened my understanding of children’s development, wellbeing, relationships, and the importance of providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for every child.
I believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential, and I strive to provide this every day.
As an Educator, my goal is to create a warm, nurturing, and secure environment where children feel happy to explore, learn, and express themselves. I understand that every child learns and develops differently, so I enjoy supporting children through a balance of individual learning, group activities, creative play, and hands-on experiences that build confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.
I encourage children to enjoy a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, messy play, water play, music, outdoor adventures, nature walks, storytelling, and imaginative play. These experiences support children’s development not only academically, but also emotionally, physically, socially, and creatively.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with families from many different cultural backgrounds. I believe diversity is something to be celebrated, and I enjoy helping children learn about different traditions, languages, and cultures. I also value introducing children to New Zealand’s unique heritage, including Māori culture, values, and traditions, while encouraging respect, kindness, inclusion, and a strong sense of belonging.
Building strong and respectful relationships with parents and whānau is just as important to me as caring for their children. I believe that open communication, partnership, and trust create the best foundation for each child’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
I look forward to welcoming your child into a caring, family-focused environment where they will feel supported, encouraged, and inspired every step of the way.
It is a privilege to be part of each child’s early years, and I am committed to providing high-quality care, meaningful learning experiences, and a nurturing environment for every child and family I work with.
