Kate

My family and I enjoy making use of local parks and beaches for picnics and walks in our spare time. We have an old dog who loves to get out and share in the adventures with us.  Both my daughter and I like art and crafts, painting, scrapbooking, photography, etc.  Soccer is our favourite sport.  We have all played and enjoy getting out to kick a ball around when we can. We also love music - my son is involved in a singing and dancing group and we love to go watch him perform.

I started as an Educarer with JeMMa’s in 2012, after two years in an early childhood centre and ten enjoyable years of working with young children with special needs.  This is where I met my son and have had him as part of my family for almost eight years.  In this time, I mainly worked with children with Autism in a classroom setting.  My role was focused around transitioning children into school life.  I would work closely with them to establish relationship development through play, enhance their independence and improve their communication skills, as well as supporting them to participate in class activities.

I thoroughly enjoy helping children learn and watching them grow as individuals through exploration and play.  I opened my home to children so I can use my fun, caring nature and stable environment to provide families with a place they can feel confident leaving their children while they work or take a break.

I provide opportunities for regular outings, such as attending a local playcentre, Mainly Music sessions, trips to the park, library, local shops, and the weekly playgroup provided by JeMMa’s.
If an environment where your child can feel a sense of belonging, being cared for and have the confidence to be themselves while they learn and play is what you’re looking for, then feel free to contact JeMMa’s to set up a time we can meet.

Our Educarers are recruited using a very strong selection process

We take the safety of your child very seriously.  Each and every one of our Educarers is thoroughly checked using our recruitment vetting system.  Part of this system requires all Educarers to have a squeaky clean police record and a full medical assessment.
Further to this, Co-ordinators (who are all fully qualified and registered early childhood teachers) complete a full assessment of every property to ensure that it meets Ministry of Education safety requirements.
