About Us

Calling all parents who want their children to learn in a comfortable and nurturing environment

JeMMa’s Home-based Education and Childcare was founded on the belief that early childhood education plays a major role in a child’s ability to develop skills and learn throughout life. The name is derived from a combination of the two directors names, Jenny and Martin.

As a kindergarten teacher, Jenny Tyrrell could see that children who had a focus of learning whilst in a home environment appeared better equipped to learn in the future. As well as this, children who were well socialised with other children of different ages appeared to cope better than others.

It was those two key observations which cemented her belief; that a child, learning with other children, in a homebased environment rather than an institutional environment, was the best way to go. And that’s how JeMMa’s started.

At JeMMa’s we offer parents the chance to enrol their children to learn and play in a nurturing homebased environment. Our group of well-trained, in-home Educarers offer a unique and flexible service for parents who want to set their children up to love learning and have fun.

Have peace of mind knowing that our Educarers are recruited using a very strong selection process

All JeMMa's Educarers are vetted using a strict selection process which includes medical assesments and police checks
We take the safety of your child very seriously. Each and every one of our Educarers is thoroughly checked using our recruitment vetting system. Part of this system requires all Educarers to have a squeaky clean police record and a full medical assessment.

Further to this, Co-ordinators (who are all fully qualified and registered Early Childhood Teachers) complete a full assessment of every property to ensure that it meets Ministry of Education safety requirements. This means the property has no major hazards, is fully fenced and has been child-proofed.

It is also our policy that no other children (other than those enrolled) are cared for by our Educarers and under no circumstances will children EVER be left in the care of someone else at the home.

To help ensure that these standards are maintained our Co-ordinators often undertake unannounced visits.
